I need help, I think I downloaded a virus.
The virus changed everything on a .lnk file or whatever.. I can't get into anything, I try to open something and it asks me "what program would u like to use to open this file"
Anyone help me get rid of it?

Have you installed any other programs or hardware recently ?
its possible one of your registry files has been damaged, not nessessarilly by a virus.
if you are using windows xp, via your start button select programs, accessories, system tools then system restore.
select a date prior to when the problem occured and restore.
This will reset all settings to when everything worked fine. It wont destroy or erase any files youve worked on since, but any programs installed after that date will prob not run as the registry will not recognise them.

I've tried that, but, I cannot get into the Restore Feature. I've tried many times.
It's just a blank window, There is no options, no writing. nothing.

In that case Opera has prob overwritten some files, which suggests U put Opera on the same hard drive as Windows ? NOT a good idea.
If u want to put any other operating system in, then you should partition the Main Hard drive or install it on a different drive.
Only suggestion I can come up with is to re-install XP :(
