Okay I'll cut the techincal stuff, we updated our DNS records yesterday afternoon, the domain was pointed this morning, if your ISP is any good they should have noticed our move .. although my ISP has yet to do so LOL
I need everyone to try the following and report back please
Visit http://www.gensteps.co.uk - you SHOULD NOT get the site loading, only a temporary holding page, if you load the site - hit refresh a few times - if you are still getting the site then drop a message here.
Secondly please check out the following URL
http://forum.gensteps.co.uk - it SHOULD load the forums - this is the NEW URL to the forums, once you are back at the forums it will revert back to the IP address, this is due to the board being setup to use the IP but as soon as I know most people have got the new address working this shall be changed.
If both, or one works post here and give the name of your ISP so I know which ones are on and which ones still need updating! :D
I will post again once I am sure the majority have the new DNS changes and explain the new URLs and which you should bookmark and which you should remove from your lists ;)
But if you could do those two tests for me that'll be great, I know that the ISP IFL is working with the new server, my ISP Blueyonder wasn't working 2 hours ago but that might have changed.
Thanks! :D

But the 1st one loads a coming soon page right? Or does it load the site as usual.
Microsoft Explorer isn't your ISP LOL - who do you connect too to use the Internet, Freeserve, AOL etc.

Ahh not so fussed about school ones, I'm on a school one now and everything is working fine, its all updated and everything but my home ISP Blueyonder is still redirecting to the old server
Oh well seems I might have to wait longer before everything is working fine!

for those that dont understand,
imagine it like sending a letter to everyone stating a change of address,
some areas will get it quicker than others depending on the postal service
(and u know what that can be like at this time of year  )
 GenSTEPS loads the index page. But the 2nd one doesn't do anything.

It will work, give it time, your ISP might update their DNS tonight at 1am or something so it will work tomorrow morning.
It isn't working for me either so its not worked its way though to me yet either.

Its to do with the cookies, they are pointing to the IP range and not the domain. Once everyone is working - which is seemingly only me isn't working at this moment! I will change the board settings so that the domain the board works from is forum.gensteps.co.uk and the cookies it issues are from the gensteps.co.uk domain.
But if I do that now I would lock myself out from my own board LOL
