View Full Version : In The Zone flying up the UK-charts
In The Zone is flying up the UK-Charts after the little promo and the video premiere on friday. It can be assumed that she'll jump from her last week position at #45 into the top20.She's in the midweeks at #17.

Yup, always a known fact, if acts come to the UK shove their face (and other bits around) it tends to help sales quite a bit LOL

This is a good thing. Not sure that In The Zone will be able to support itself from Toxic's popularity a la Let Go, Stripped, Justified, but should still be able to at least outsell the 3rd album, and with the right single choices even the potential to outsell the 2nd.
Could outsell the second, but probably not in the uk.

I really think there's two roads this album can go, it could go the Stripped route and hang around most of the year, which is unlikely, but possible as we have several albums like that a year.
The other one is that because the single releases will probably be much stronger with this release, it keeps leaping up and down like it has so far, and even then, I reckon as long as it hangs around a bit, it could push Oops...'s total, given that ITZ must have already almost topped 200K.

A leap is definitely what she needs - I dobut it'll do a Stripped, but as long as it manages to keep steady in the top 20 for a few weeks (hopefully break the top 10 as well), then the album will hopefully sell a fair few copies, and if the right songs are chosen then the album could outsell Britney and Oops. (I don't know what either of those sold so...)

Album Sales (Roughly):
Baby One More Time - 1.105 million
Oops...I Did It Again - 800,000
Britney - 350,000
ITZ should fairly easily become the 3rd biggest seller of the 4, and as I say, has potential to push Oops... although it would need to be right in the upper reaches of the chart for a while.
Was just looking at sales figures so far, and Me Against The Music is only 30,000ish copies away from outselling Slave 4 U. Her only recent releases that outsold that single were Slave 4 U and I'm Not A Girl which (when the figures were last updated) was only 4,000 ahead. So all in all, the performance of single and album sales wise has not been that bad at all.

Not doing bad on the radio charts either, according to Heat, Toxic is like the 5th most played pre-release song too ...

C-List one radio 1. It is doing good so far - TRL has been #8,#8,#7,#3
It just fear it is all going to be a bit too much til March 1st. I'd prefer it to be released on February 23rd as she might get a #1 due to less competition (only Westlife) and the song wouldn't have worn off until then.
In Germany it's all going fabulous. It's been since about a week on viva and viva+ (nation music channels) and since monday on TRL and also all 4 days #1. THen we'll have a TOTP special on Saturday the 7th and the release on February 9th.

let's be honest, we all knew Toxic is a fantastic track but no-one even thought it'd do SO MUCH for the album. I cannot say that is going to be top3 in Germany but top10 is absolutely sure (although I hope for another top5 hi) ..

CDUK helped (a bit) they played Boom Boom this morning as they don't have a Toxic performance and the BBC have at least 2 plus this german TOTP Special if they so want to show it LOL I guess CDUK didn't want to miss out on something

It'll be interesting to see what happens to the album when Toxic is actually released, as far as everyone raving about how after only a week it had caused the album to fly back up the charts, it was possibly a bit over-the-top as the album doesn't look set to climb this week.
I suspect it will closer to the release date, but I still can't see Toxic making In The Zone do a Stripped/Justified/Let Go.

LOL so what do I know? Album climbs up 3 to #17 this week. Only 3 places away from its peak now!
