I think you have mis-understood what what was said.
With all the comments that were going on and the claims that some people were making it was the SC8 section on the GN Forum that was being compared to a dodgy tabloid newspaper.

2ndly as already posted, I was making the reference between the forums and the media, not SC8 and the media.

3rdly I've had numerous complaints via PM about the said topics and therefore closed them.

You can freely chat about Frankie and her boyfriend, that is NOT the issue here, the issue is that some people here are claiming that they have "contact with the group" I cannot prove or disprove this but what it is causing is a semi-sort of friction between people.
I'd rather if people did have contacts to act in a sensible manner and not gloat about this fact and use it to wind other members of the forum up intentional or not.

Discussion is fine, winding other up by claiming stuff (if truthful or not) isn't as it only ends up with arguements.

To restate my point

Some people here are claiming that "I know such-a-such-a-person" who is either in SC8 (i.e. a member) or another family member.

Now, I'm not saying people are lying, but I am one that doesn't believe it, as if they had these "contacts" then they can tell us what the hell is going on with the group but they don't ...
For example, I have contacts at Jive Records, there is news coming about now for future releases from some of their acts, which I told people MONTHS ago about, so I go for forums and I read all these exciting posts which I've known about for months, quite amusing. Now IF I had any contacts with Universal Music I would attempt to dig up info on SC8 but Jive is part of BMG music not Universal (which is funny cos the American Juniors are on BMG but the UK equilvent aren't ...)

For me personally until some of these people actually prove it to me that they do have contacts with the group I won't believe it, this is the Internet, everyone is basically anonymous, people can lie about their names, job, age, sex, location you name it they can say it. The only thing I know about these people is what part of the world they are posting from, what ISP they use, their nearest major town etc.

If people know the group then fine, but using it as a 'weapon' to irritate, annoy, upset other forum members is not allowed in my eyes.
