View Full Version : Who else agrees?: Walk Away Shouldn't Have Been Released.

I honestly think Walk Away was not a good single choice. I know Kelly loves it, but Gone and Addicted are much stronger and either of those should've been released. Gone did extremely well on radio in the US and other countries (It made #1 over here in the HK Radio Charts!) and if it had been properly released I honestly think it could've been a huge hit. Addicted is very Evanescence like and would probably boost album sales as well. Walk Away is her least successful hit all over the world, it didn't even break the Top 10 of the US Billboard Hot 100 like the other 4.

So who else agrees? Walk Away should not have been released. I'm interested in your thoughts.

Totally agree with you. I was gutted when I found out that she's releasing this single. IMO its one of the weakest songs on the album.

I love the song, although i agree - it should'nt have been released. Everybody learns from their mistakes though.

I agree that Gone or Addicted could've been bigger hits- Walk Away is radio friendly and not such a bad choice. Also this album and the singles were a whole lot more successful than anyone had imagined so i think it was good that it meant that Kelly got the choice of the final single as like a reward, it didnit matter how it did anyway

yeah I think Walk Away is a nice track, but its not strong enough for a single release. She should have released Addicted instead. Overhere in Europe Walk Away release is cancelled I think cause the vid has been on the telly but no singles in the shops. And now we're getting Breakaway I think cause its on the radio & in radio charts and it never got a proper release over here in the Netherlands

I think the song is great, and I love it, but I agree that it should not have been a single, I think "Gone" should have been released instead, not to mention the fact that the video was crap ...

I think pretty much any other song from the album could have done better. I think the song is o.k but probably one of her weakest from either album.

it entered the UK charts @ a dissapointing No.21 an all of the other singles from the album made top 10 so its quite dissapointing really

It was a great last single choice + the Chris Cox radio remix is a masterpiece so for that alone it was so worth it :D

It got to #13 on the Hot 100 Billboard Charts (which is good, but compared to the other 4 it's a minor hit.)

I love the song too (great concert opener too!) but I stil think it should've juststayed as an album track.

I love Walk Away and Gone, but i do agree that "Gone" should have been released as a single. Walk away didn't do very well here in Australia... it got to 27 (this week) on the ARIA charts and that's the best its done.

Sales, Airplay (both radio and TV) combined.

yeh gone is a much better single than walk away. however walk away does get me in a really good mood and once ive heard it im singing it all day so it is a catchy song to have released.

i think 'gone' or 'addicted' would have been great to use and 'i hate myself for losing you' might also have been good to use.

I really like Walk Away but I think Kelly didn't need to release anymore singles after becuase of you as alot of people have the album already.

I do like Walk Away, however Gone would've been better to release but maybe she thought it would've been too similar to BTHE or SUBG. I think the bigger mistake is to release Breakaway, after SUBG, BTHE, BoY & WA it seems the weaker song (however it is a nice cool-down from the 'rock-pop-chick image' as a final song from the album), I'm not hoping much of a good chart position though.

After the sales of the album and the amount of singles preceding walk away...I don't think any more singles should have been released. 5 singles is almost into daniel bedingfield territory. 4 signles from an album is more than enough!

it was ashamed she didn't release Addicted as the last single or Gone it would have done better in the charts i think

I agree, the song is so much better performed live but you know people buy singles after listening to the radio version/watching the music video and I really don't think this song was worth a single

i pretty much agree gone would've made an awesome single, its just so much stronger as a single, however, the chris cox mix of walk away is indeed a masterpiece

I Love Walk Away And I Think It Was A Good Choice For A Single. I Beleieve The Only Reason It Didn't Do So Well Was Because The Album Was So Successful . Alot Of People That Have The Album Wont Buy The Singles. I Think If She Had Have Released It Instead Of Behind These Hazel Eyes It Would Have Done Much Better. I Think Any Single That She Released From Breakaway At This Time And In The Future Wont Do So Well.

I don't think it was a good choice either...but right now I can't remember any of the other good songs on her album that I've like...I like all of her other songs she released: Breakaway, Since U Been Gone, Behind These Hazel Eyes, and Because of You...I do like Beautiful Disaster as well, but not the live version as much...

its not a bad song, i enjoyed it, but she already released 5 other singles from that album so i think it was enough, and it didnt do well at all.

I was hopin that "Gone" to be released instead of "Walkaway".. But after more spins n the funny video, this song works for me as well.. Anyway, "Breakaway" was a very good follow up album in mu opinion...
