So in american are their National record companies like 50cent's g unit records,A&M records for the pussycat dolls etc and then when they want to take their music internation do the hookup with international record companies like universal, sonybmg etc? Can u get signed straight to universal records in usa or not?

I believe A&M is a subsidiary of Universal. When PCD release in the US, they use A&M, but when material is released. They use Universal because they can do better marketing and what not because they are a worldwide company.

Yes, A&M is a subsidiary of Universal. As for internationally, I believe they are still with the same record company. If a special marketing and promotions is needed, the record company might hire a marketing and promotions company. Other than that, I believe they would still use their own record label overseas.
