Anyone think she overdid the dieting? I don't know why women think it's better to be thin. Bigger built women can also be attractive. She was OK on the Sundown cover.

Um she was only 11!
I doubt she was dieting!
She was still a kid then, I think she hit puberty when she was 12, about to hit her teens, thats why there is a difference in her size.

^LMAO, you're right. She was just 11, I highly doubt she was dieting. = X

According to reports in the meedjah, even some girls at primary school are now becoming obsessed with their weight. It defo looks to me that she, or someone, wanted her to look 'nice and slim' for the big photo shoot and she overdid it. Great album though.

The picture was taken a few years ago and so has nothing to do with what girls think now.
I don't think she was dieting at that age. If they wanted her to be thin then why not for the sundown cover???

I still think she wasnt dieting, jeez honestly people read ay too much into such things! I stand by my original post, it was just her age.

She goes to the gym, well she used to, don't know if she still does, but some people just lose weight as they get taller & older

dreaminsimi
27th Feb 2007, 20:31
either way she IMHO was/is not anorexic!

that album cover was taken a least 4 years ago, girls thought differently back then...i should know i was 12..compared to the girls today...i think your reading to deep into it lol

and people have to remember she isnt the young girl that was in s club juniors anymore shes 17 this year lolss

I didn't use the word anorexic. I think by the time they made Sundown they were having more say in what they did, like choice of clothing for example. Another thing about the Together cover is they look like someone is going 'say cheese' and forcing them to smile whereas on Sundown they are posing more like cool dudes.

They did an interview once with the guardian and Jay turned up in a top emblazoned with " satisfaction guaranteed" and the stylist told him to take it off and she was saying they couldnt wear stuff like that and the girls in particular couldnt wear low cut tops or short skirts yet as S Club 8 it was the opposite the girls wore short skirts for practically every performance and well as them stating they were older now. So in a way it is deliberate the change but then again I dont think they were neccessarily unhappy with their image before.

This interview always makes me laugh!:)

This is another one they did with the guardian and it seems a bit different than the last its the one they did as S Club 8:

Thanks for the links, I've only read the first one, I'll look at the other one later. It confirms what I thought that they were being told what to do rather than being allowed to make their own decisions. Then on the Sundown album they managed to get more freedom. I wonder how they managed it? I actually despise newspapers because they talk of the 'dirty raincoat brigade' as if any liking of kids makes you a dirty old man. What do they want me to do, exactly. Hate kids instead?

I found that first interview SO hilarious! I was sat here at the computer laughing out loud, and my dad was giving me strange looks!

I don't know...I find it odd that people are complaining that S Club Juniors didn't have creative freedom when they were like 11 or 12...I doubt they really cared and if they did, I doubt they'd do a very good job at that age.

IMHO I think they were happy with their image as the juniors, heck if I was them at the time I wouldnt have minded if I I wasnt allowed to wear certain things. They are remembered more by the general public as the Juniors even the group themselves usually acknoweledge themselves as them being in a band called S Club Juniors. SC8 were in a very difficult market at the time (2003-2004) as they were trying to make their image older yet they didnt appeal in general to the public and some of their previous audience. They went from a tween/early teen band. IMHO it may have been probably too sudden. I think they were still styled as much as they were when they were the juniors, it just happens they happened to prefer the new style. Rochelle once stated they are not puppets, to some extent I disagree.

I think once you choose a name you should stick with it. The name S Club 8 is fine but it wasn't their first name so now no-one knows what to call them.
As for the Dreaming debacle I put it entirely down to abandoning the S Club name.
If Dreaming had been released under the S Club name it would have been a smash hit.
It's the greatest song OF ALL TIME!!!!

i agree . it's mostly r & b or hip-hop or rock pop isn't really what kids are listening to anymore .

Steve W
18th Mar 2007, 01:29
How do you know what anyone is listening to?

dreaminsimi
21st Mar 2007, 21:32
Cos people arent buying pop!

Steve W

So you know what people are buying? How?

dreaminsimi

because Pop isnt charting well!!!
So obviously people are not buying it as much as they used to or they are all illegally downloading it!

Roxy
25th Mar 2007, 11:43
I'm pretty sure that was her natural self...

Besides, it's not about beauty, it's about health... being fat is just as dangerous as being a smoker, being skinny, I mean really skinny, like Mary-Kate Olsen was... that's also dangerous... Hannah was absoutley fine and she still is, meaning, she never was fat, and she never was skinny

dreaminsimi
25th Mar 2007, 12:24
Exactly Roxy.
I remember when there was a thread which was claiming that Hannah was fat!
Like the average clothes size in the UK is around 12-14.
There are tons of people who are Hannah's size and are perfectly healthy it kinda depends on your Body Mass Index, if its below 20 you are unhealthy/underweight. If its above 30 this is overweight/unhealthy. It takes into account your height and compares it to your weight.
Its a poor message to be sending out to people that if you are curvy its wrong.

But yeah there is nothing wrong with Hannah's weight and there has never been.

Steve W
25th Mar 2007, 12:50
I never said she was too fat. I said she was too thin. Unless I'm going mental the cover of Together definitely suggests Hannah was on a diet and too much of one.

dreaminsimi
25th Mar 2007, 13:35
Steve no one said that you claimed Hannah was fat.
It is highly unlikely she was on a diet at the age of 11 before she has even hit her teens. Yes I as aware of the fact that there children below the age of 11 who have had eating disorders etc but I doubt Hannah was one of them. On the Sundown cover she is 12 years old and has probably hit puberty hence a difference in her size.

25th Mar 2007, 13:48
I have to say, based on those recent "bebo" photos, Hannah looks utterly stunning these days, more so than any of the other former sc8 girls. She has the build where it's not too difficult to imagine her being overweight in 10 or 20 years' time, but certainly not now.

As for her SC8/SCJ days - I don't think that she ever came close to being underweight or indeed overweight.

Steve W

So it's just me who thought she looked a bit famished on the cover. There's loads of other interesting things about the cover. Like who's doing what with who in the 'pretend'(?) party they are having.

Its just the way they are posing all squashed up together and her dimples and high cheekbones just reinforce this.

Chocy thanks for uploading the pics.

TFP
28th Mar 2007, 21:40
yeah, ok, she does look arguably underweight in that particular shot, but you can only really see her head, maybe it's just the very wide grin that she's flashing.

Steve W
29th Mar 2007, 10:33
By the Together album cover I mean all the pictures, and not just the front cover.
It's more the back cover picture where Hannah looks like she could have benefited from a bag of chips before the shoot.

Steve W

chocy you know damned well that pic is not the back cover. On the back cover she looks like she should have had a pizza with extra cheese and pepperoni before the shoot AND YOU KNOW IT.
I am not interested in being involved in the CIA rods experiment where everyone denies an obvious truth in order to try and send one person mad.
Hannah was on a diet for the Together cover and you know it as well as I do. That is not meant as a criticism of Hannah by the way. I luuuuuurrrrrrvvvveee her.

Hannah is very good looking but on the Together album cover she was so obviously in need of a bag of chips that the fact no-one else agrees with me sugggests a conspiracy.

Hannah's never looked underweight. Not including early developers (those that hit puberty at like 10 years old), a lot of children of that age (I believe she was 11 or 12 at the time of the Together shoot) are of a similar size. It's called not having hit puberty.

Plus, it is possible to look thin but still be eating healthily. I have friends who are 18 and 19 and are almost as slim as Hannah was when she was 11, but they're perfectly healthy.

TFP
3rd Apr 2007, 18:41
to be fair, she's fairly unlikely to be accused of being underweight these days...

umm I think TFP some people are going to be a bit mad with you! :lol2:
Yeah she has 'filled out' but she is still a normal sized girl.
To be fair on Steve W Hannah seems to very happy being out of the spotlight and she probably felt more pressured than others being in the spotlight not due to her weight but cos the others had more experience she was younger and dancing wasnt her thing.

TFP
3rd Apr 2007, 20:36

oh definitely, as i said earlier in this thread, based on the handful of photos that i've seen on public sites, she looks very lovely indeed these days.

and not underweight, not by any stretch of the imagination.

dreaminsimi
3rd Apr 2007, 21:17
She looks great! She looks alot older too, makes me feel really young even though Im nearly 2 years older than her I havent changed at all! Yeah so I hope we can conclude Hannah was not being forced to or was on a diet during 2002 specifically for the together album sleeve!:D

Steve W

Hannah looks wasted on the Together album cover. She looks alright here though. I've always fancied big built women.

chocy
9th Apr 2007, 13:01
She doesn'y look wasted :S

I think Hannah is & has always been stunning, I don't get why weight should be a issue, I've had enough of all the size 0 stuff in the media, Hannah, has no problem with her weight, she's just a curvy girl, & it suits her

One of the pictures in the cover sleeve shows Rochelle whispering something to Hannah and Stacey, who are laughing as if it was the funniest thing ever.
Maybe she was saying: 'These songs are really about Darth Vader'
Or then again maybe she wasn't saying that atall, no.

daisy and hannah have both had ups and down with ther weight and height

once upon a time daisy and hannah were short and then they grew and over the years ther bodys have changed

and hannah looks better the way she is now

what size clothes wud you say the sclub8 girls are
heres my prediction
stacey - 8
frankie - 8
daisy - 8
rochelle - 10
hannah - 10

I remember in a magazine article and they mentioned that Hannah and Daisy were the same size at the time approx 2003.
We dont know for sure what their clothes sizes are but as a guide I dont think they are any smaller than an 8 or any bigger than a 12..

In two pictures on the cover Daisy has got antennae.:twitch: So maybe when I got annoyed a few weeks ago by all the slagging of From Above, and let rip, maybe it was her controlling me by radar.:D
Or maybe not.
