My December - A Dissappointment!

Is anyone else really dissappointed with My December. I've listened to it quite a few times and can honestly say I don't really like any of the tracks on there. I'm hoping with more time it will grow on me at least a little bit. I can see why there was talk of the album being scrapped though. It just seems very self indulgent and overly angst ridden for the sake of it.

I thought I was going to love this album as I thought Breakaway was excellent. It just a real shame I pretty much hate it :sad::sad:

I thought the same at first only liking one or two song but now after a few listens and as i listen to it more and more i love it, its not as commercial as her previous stuff but i think its really good.

I actually like the album, she needed to removed the 'shackles' of SUBG, as everyone is doing that now (still) - Girlfriend, U + Ur Hand are all SUBG - if anything I think Avril has gone backwards on her new album, its too what Kelly WAS doing in 2004/5!

There are 'commerical' songs on there, I think a lot of the media talk is due to the bad situation between her old management and the record label. Obviously shes sacked her management (sadly the tour went too) and is starting afresh.

The album is getting good reviews at present, most places giving it 3.5 or 4 out of 5. (In relation albums from Rihanna etc. are getting 2 out of 5 from the same reviewers)

I just hope she comes over to Europe now and promotes it as it is going to need it. RCA say US/UK/Germany are the main 3 markets but how much promo has UK/Germany got? None ...

I think the album is such a step on from Breakaway, it's amazing. The whole album has a more solid sound rather than odd songs here & there. I love 'Haunted' 'Maybe' 'Irvine' & 'Sober'

The album isn't a Dissappointment for me, not at all. It's very diffrent yeah, but that's a good thing. You have to get used to the new songs but the album is really good! Haven't listened anough to say wich song I like most because I'm only having the album for one day but Sober is really beautiful!
