I have to say, having downloaded this and seen the video, I think it will probably run away with the Christmas #1. They've repeated the Evergreen formula with a singalong song and the oh-so-predictable key change.

Anyone care to disagree? <_<

no, i don't want it to be #1 but it probably will be.

interestingly, the hits have added both john lennon's and the pop idol's versions to their playlist, so it will be intersting to see who polls the most votes. also, i think its just a big money scam by simon cowell and the vid is incredibly cheesy. john lennon wrote the song expressing how he fault about war among other things, and them simon cowell just comes along, nicks it, does nothing to it and gives it to 12 people who probably have no idea what the song is about.

Well, I don't think it would be the obvious choice for a Pop Idol song, but I think most people are aware of what the lyrics mean.

I suppose they could've gone for a more popular, non-political song, but as it is, I rather like it.

well, perhaps they do, but i'd still much rather have the darkness or avid merrion at #1. (or even ak - but i know its not gonna happen!)

Blech, I will buy the Pop Idols to make sure it isn't the Darkness or Avid Merrion. I really don't think we need them at #1.

well most folk seem to reckon the pop isols will have it all sewn up with "Happy Xmas War Is Over"
but its going 2 be interesting as the original is being released as well !
Its 23 yrs since John Lennon was shot, and Yoko has given her permission for the song to be re-issued with new video footage depicting Johns image of what the song was all about.

I think it will be Christmas #1. It's quite a good song, I think Susanne and Andy sound excellent on it, even though Andy isn't even one of my faves. But it's good to have Susanne, Kirsty, and Roxanne back :D
