No, if you have my 90Mb video is a different quality to the m2v
For starters my video is 720x576 video frame size, a standard MPEG-2 file would be encoded at 480x576 frame size.
MPEG-2 would be encoded at a 2520kbps bit-rate with a 44100Hz 224kbps audio track.
My video is encoded at around 7000kbps with a 48000Hz 384kbps audio track.
MIGHT appear to be the same on a computer playback, burn both onto a CD and view on a TV screen, difference should be noticable ... but you cannot burn both onto the same CD cos you cannot mix an MPEG-2 and a higher res video on the same CD ..

if you have a VERY good encoded SVCD it can seem almost dvd quality, but pause frames during high motion i'm sure you will be able to spot some difference between the two...

I'll add the only reason I've started higher vids is cos I can just author a proper DVD without having to re-encode LOL ;)
