New Eva Single Called Gimme The Music

There was a clip on etalk tonight with Eva Avila. She's in Toronto in the Recording Studio. She said her new single is named Gimme The Music. She talked a bit about the process of doing the new album and that it is pop but more soulful. She also mentioned they are hoping for a USA release as well and possibly if that happens the tour going to the USA as well

Good on it that she's still staying around! Idol fame can be so fleeting (idle!) if there's not confidence from both the label and the artist.

I love how eTalk says "we were invited." Umm... I don't think Eva was given a choice either way, it's CTV! :)

The US talk is interesting, although I would hope her label would have pushed her into the more pop-friendly UK/German markets too then maybe do a US push as they can go single top 10 (or whatever) in Canada/UK/Germany which would give her a higher profile before tackling the USA

With stronger material she could make it this side of the Atlantic, she's good the image, she comes across as a friendly person, she just needed some stronger material which they must think she has if they are aiming at the states too.

It's the old "idols won't sell outside their own country" but recently this has been disproved with Leona and Jordin and of course Kelly Clarkson, maybe its time Canada took a chance and tried to give the world another pop artist.
