I thought it was just a (dark) brown. Magazines and other "fact files" have always reported it as brown... I don't see why he'd dye it...

I definitely think it looks like he dyed it. It was way darker back when Sundown was released.

well they were in Spain for a while this year in the sun...

it was a lot darker when he first got into the band than now! but it does look quite natural
