i think u can use softwares like TMPGEnc, GoldWave to extract the audio from the video to the other formats like mp2, wav, mp3....etc.....

i think if you extract the audio using TMPGEnc, the audio should be an mp2 file.... maybe the player didn't support this format so it was a silence when u played it?? mm... dunno....

maybe you can try to directly drag the video to Goldwave (d/l from goldwave.com)and then save the audio to a wav file and then convert it to an mp3? But i think you need to download an extra file to make Goldwave be able to convert the wav file to mp3.... i forget what that file is....

Or download a software called "adobe audition 1.0" from download.com
use the "extract audio from video" option from the "file" menu and then save the audio file as an mp3..... but this software only provides a 30-day trial.......

wayne, u should b able 2 use winamp with correct input/output plugins,
Depending on what file type the video is will depend which input plugin u will need.
then output would be out_mp3.
(configure which setting u want first)
then check winamp is not set to repeat and play the video.
you wont hear any sound as it plays, but mp3 file will be written to configured output folder.
(rem 2 switch back output to direct sound afterwards)
