Frankie - short skirt? [Dialup friendly version]

North Run was a bad decision...the entire outfit was too revealing and in bad taste. She should of wore the top with jeans, or the skirt with a more covering top.

I think the rest of the skirts she wears are fine though, I am about their age-17 (perfect for Aaron :love: ) and wear short skirts myself, the only thing I don't like about the clubbers skirts is when they flash their bloomers. I don't know any girls with skirts so flimsy that they can't turn around with flashing their underwear. Frankie usually doesn't wear skirts like that so all is well. And like you said, she always looks great. :)

and without sounding weird i think thats the point of them wearing them dunno maybe i'm wrong. cos if not why not stop doing so much twirling you dont need to be a rocket scientist to know frilly skirt + elavated stage + twirls and kicks = revealing. :whistle:
cos if you think/look back to the sundown DTMYS performances i doubt there is a single one where there wasnt a Risqué(thinks thats right) camera angle or twirl

well......I don't mind their short frilly skirts as long as they continue to wear the little shorts under them, I don't thin I'd appreciate seeing their underwear lol.

However.....back to Frankie's skirts. I haven't liked the style she's had going on lately, it's not the skirts themselves that I don't like, it's the fact that she keeps wearing them with the cowboy boots, and I don't think they go well with skirts.

the north run skirt was actually a skort so that's okay and usually she'll wear spankies underneigth so it's not like you can see anything, so i think short skirts are good.

I personally think that the clubbers are too old for excuses like the skirt is a skort or they're wearing bloomers underneath. Bloomers are tiny, basically the equivalent of wearing boy short underwear and it's still more then we'd normally see unless we were at the beach, which we're not. No one needs to be seeing up your skirt period...I mean at times I see how they can't help it but like lexo said, it is so common it can only be assumed that their intentions are to allow you to see up their skirts...which is kinda wrong and gross. There have been times when Daisy's turns around and her skirt flies up so much you can see her entire bottom...I appreciate the covering of it by bloomers but it's still more then I really need to see. Bloomers are supposed to be used for a just in case, you don't put them on expecting people to see them! And as for skorts, if its supposed to look like a skirt and the skirt looks too short, I don't see how saying it's actually a skort makes a great defense.

I dont think her skirts are usually too short, ya they are short skirts but its not at the point which the skirt actually isnt hiding anything. But since s club 8 has so many really fast paced dance routines they know what they are getting themselves into with length of skirt but i dont think its been that bad yet. I havent seen the north run video yet though lol.

The skirts that they wore when they were Juniors were better (Although the skirts they are wearing now are really cute)... but ever since Sundown we never saw them wearing a skirt past their knees anymore... I mean we all know they have great legs but since their dances are so much fast paced they don't need to flaunt it all the time...

I have no problem with it, but I look at it how a parent would. they think they are much more older then they are. they are 15 and they act like they are all 26, and dress the same way. They have all developed at such a high rate that they have nothing better to do then show off the new goodies, and they hope to attact male fans.. or get a boyfriend out of it. I also think it may not be their decision to wear the stuff, but the labels choice.

Bottom line, sex sells and that is what 19 is doing with both S club 8 and Rachel Stevens

i actually think they get a selection of clothes to wear and the final choice of what to wear on stage is up to them. so i dont think they are 'pressured' into wearing them. as a lot of what they wear they would prob/do wear in their own time. so ultimately with their being 8 members i dont think they let themself or their friends get pressured in to wearing or doing something they werent comfortable with.
also bear in mind stacey/rochelle & frankie are all the same age as britney was when she came out and she was dressed in a school uniform & and did a photo shoot and was on front cover of rolling stone magazine. so realistically they could be worse/better depending on how you view it.

Britney picked the schoolgirl outfit herself...I remember she said her wardrobe selection was awfull for "Baby One More Time" and she had to just throw together whatever she could.
SC8 I think, pick their clothes from a selection too (like a rack with their name on it) but they don't get to shop with their stylist on what to initially buy (I know some stars get to do that). It seems like in The Story the stylist told them what to wear all the time but now that the are older they probably choose their outfits for most performances, apart from music videos. I think the girls would be perfectly capable of saying no if they don't want to wear something. It wouldn't hurt if they had more clothes to choose from cuz they repeat alot and I don't really know of any other stars who do that so often.

I think they do choose from a selection. I think they've been doing it since quite early in their careers, because on The Story, on the last episode, the stylist told Stacey to have a look at the stuff and choose one of her Automatic High video outfits......so it goes to show that they have a slight choice in what they wear.
But I should think that at the ages they are now, they probably get given a selection of dressier stuff, including short skirts. They probably no longer have the choice of wearing jeans or 3/4 lengths on stage, like they used to at times like before Sundown

I think they do.... cuz Frankie wore pants when they performed WTAH... I think they just don't like wearing pants...cuz i remember them saying they like skirts better...

man this topic has been debated on so many times. i'm their age and i think its okay to wear short skirts, i do all the time, i just don't go showing off my underwear and stuff. skirts are fine to an extent, but when you start flashing whats underneath it just looks bad. other than that i have no problem with what they wear.

GNR Dreaming performance skirt, was nice, and it had SHORTS attached TO THE SKIRT. it was a skort thats why it was short. (y'all hopefully know that already). Frankie's style is her style. i don't know who said it but i think she looks great with the cowboy boots she has with her skirts. i need boots to wear my skirts with, and i want those ones. if only i lived in England. She looks awesome all the time, and its her choice.

i know i wear mini-skirts and i have gymnastic shorts that are used for exercise but are short shorts, and i could wear those underneath my skirts if i wanted (the only exception is that they have weird blue streaks on the sides)..but i was contemplating to wear that jean skirt i bought today to school with the shorts underneath. (i didn't hence the snow). i usually don't wear shorts underneath my skirts. it doesn't matter, and i would love to have those other dancer shorts that daisy has that she wears underneath the skirts so when she dances she doesn't flash everyone. i'm looking..but those other shorts work

its her choice guys, and i like her style, she has good fashion sense when she performs and in appearences (as well as in the TV show = Idream).

Yeah that's true ^^^^ I remember reading an interview (not shure if it's true tho) But it said 19 was gonna start making the boys work out once theyr'e all of age and get the gurls to improve their voices and it sed 19 wantes a sexier imgae for them (not in those exact words but I just read between the lines)

As the girls will be focusing on the vocals, 19 want the boys to be able to do topless
photo shoots and stuff. However, they cannot let them do any weight training until they are 16 by law, as their bodies haven't developed fully. So
if the record company offer a new contract, (which they probably will) they will make a large profit and then you will see a lot of the boys.

Actually, I think it was around during the middle, towards the end of "I Dream."

But SportzChick, I agree with you. If they do stay a band (Which is unlikely at the moment...) they'll start promoting the band in an "sexy" kind of way (Eg. shirtless photoshoots as you said). But I think that signs of this has already begun. Mainly with Calvin. He, has really been the only member to have done single photoshoots and most of those pictures turn out to be provoctating lets-get-some-female-fans shoots. And there is a GenSteps thread to prove this, but Calvin also had that beach scence they shot in "I Dream" with him being drenced in water, and his pants... Er, really low. Girls went crazy over this, and they definately got more female fans. This was clearly a publicity stunt as it wasn't necessary and why hadn't any of the cast/band members stripped down as well?

Again i think it party down to the Camera because theyre so low down so the cameras always look up from underneath them. They should keep it on those flying cameras if they dont want to show anything.

If you watch the Sundown CDUK performance, you can see that the camera keeps looking up Rochelle's skirt. You can notice other evidence if you watch other Sundown performances, and some DTMYS ones too.

well she is perfectly capable of wearing whatever she wants, but once in a while, she should cover it up just a little bit more. there are a lot of cruel people out there who could bring her down if they tried hard enough. i read a while back that rachel promised never to wear skirts again or something like that. it was a few months(??) ago. im not sure if it was true or if she has kept her promise but it shows that people can do mean things. i think that the short skirts are fine, but if you wear a short skirt that dosent fly up, it looks just as cute.

have you noticed that all their dance routines are all capable of being done with skirts on? Maybe 19 has something to do with that. Or the girls asked the choreographer to make up a routine that is able to done in skirts cause they want to wear skirts. does anyone know whats going on with that?

short skirts, long skirts does it all really matter as long as they feel comfortable in what they wear. Plus I don't think they fly up as much as people seem to be saying i mean yeah when they do the spins of course it's gonna fly up a bit but it's not like we are really gonna be seeing anything. I'm sure the girls get some input in what they wear and so far i've been totally ok with they choice of outfits.

And im a model so i have to try all different kind of skirts.
