When you say 'British' accent where exactly do you mean? Because in Great Britain we have about a billion different accents. But i'm assuming you mean some accent in England ... ya?
Louise
P.S I used to think i didn't have an accent but trust me, we all do!

Well I should have the same accent as Stacey as we're from the same town, but I pronounce my t's!
'British accent'
i hate the term ''british accent'' cos there's no such thing britain includes scotland, northern ireland, wales and england and not only do those countries have different accents to each other but we have different accents within our countries especialy england e.g london, liverpool, newcastle, manchester, birmingham to name but a few. and you can even breack down different accent's within the city's. but that would take too long.

^^^ Very true!! *claps*
And in Scotland you get different accents varying between the coasts and in Glasgow it's all very varied too. Most of my friends are Scottish but we all have different accents. It's quite funny.

most americans say "british" accent instead of something like manchester accent because we really don't know the difference. lol i don't hear british people speak that often or what part of the uk they were from, so it's like for me not knowing the difference between different chinese dialects. it all sounds chinese! lol

it's not the fact that you cant tell between each regional accent. but that the term 'british' accent lump's all the countries together as one. and that's not possible because english people sound diff to scottish & welsh & n .ireland. so we would just rather people said english accent or scottish accent. we can understand not being able to tell the difference of what part of england the accent comes from though we dont mind that :D
