Little tidbit from this months Attitude Magazine's TV review section.......

'For those of you of a theatrical bent, deffo televisual high-point of the month is H-Side Story a fly-on-the-wall peek into the life of the amazingly likeable and talented Ian 'H from Steps' Watkins as the ex-Butlins redcoat joins a musical theatre course at the Royal Academy of Music. Expect to see him caked in slap and firing scat across the stage as Leigh Bowery in Taboo The Musical some time soon.'

Nice to see some praise for H for once. Does anyone know the exact dates this is airing and is it still gonna be on channel 4??

Star magazine has a couple of snippits about H and his new TV show in their current issue. It's their Pick Of The Day for Sunday 6th March and they've given it 5 stars out of 5!
This is what their preview says: H Side Story - Words can't explain our excitement at the prospect of H hitting the box. This eight-part fly-on-the-wall follows him as he enrols on the Musical Theatre course at the Royal Academy Of Music. Can the former Steps star posh up?

There's also a little article with him on the TV gossip page:Ex Steps popster-cum-reality-TV-star Ian 'H' Watkins was amazed when he saw Natalie Cassidy's (Sonia from EastEnders) new boobs. "I felt them and they were very nice! Good on her and good on them!" he enthused. Oooh, wonder what Sonia's husband Martin Fowler would say?

A series of eight half-hour programmes following Ian “H” Watkins (ex-Steps) as he joins the Musical Theatre course at the Royal Academy of Music. The results of this baffling coup will all be captured as the former Butlin’s Redcoat joins some of the world’s most gifted young musicians.

The series will document his progress through the tough 60-hour week course over a period of nine months and will also provide an insight into his celebrity world, his private life and the difficulties he faces because of his reputation as the “really annoying one out of Steps”. How will the austere tutors, normally used to moulding perfection out of top grade musicians, cope with the naffest name in pop? Can H become credible within the industry? God forbid, might we all end up thinking, ‘H is actually quite a good bloke’ as we watch him on a Sunday morning?

Duration: 35 minutes.
It's H's first week at the world reknowned Royal Academy of Music and he's not off to the best of starts. His singing lesson starts badly when he complains his tutor is 'gobbing' on him, and gets steadily worse when he realises he will actually be expected to sing and not mime. His acting tutorial brings a new definition to the term 'wooden' and his first day ends with a nine-inch camera being shoved up his nose in order to check his vocal chords. Away from the academy, the programme takes a tour of his country manor, which used to be a weekend haunt of Queen Victoria. Friends come over and it's time for H to show off his culinary skills, which previously saw him blow up an oven on Ready, Steady, Cook. The episode ends with H back at college trying to impress his tutors with his portrayal of a 'Big Bad Wolf'.

Thats a bit irrelevant, they also had surprisingly large (and I use the word "surprisingly" with reference to lack of promotion in cerain areas) followings in other places around the world.
Perhaps if record companies and management of bands these days would spend more time analysing where certain artists are more popular, they would have more returns for their input and the artists would be around for a lot longer.
