Taken from The Sun,

BRITNEY SPEARS is coming to town – and I know when.

The Pop Princess is to embark on a mini-tour of the UK – her first for four years.

And she has chosen the world’s No1 showbiz column to announce the dates.

Britney will play four gigs.

She kicks off at Glasgow’s SECC on April 30.

She then plays Manchester’s MEN Arena on May 1.

On May 3 she’s at London’s Wembley Arena.

And she will finish her tour at Birmingham’s NIA on May 5.

Last night Britney told me: “I’m really thrilled to be coming back to tour the UK.

“I love the British fans and the crowds are always fun.

“This is going to be my best tour yet and I hope that you really enjoy it.”

Tickets for the four gigs will go on sale this Friday (January 16) from 9am.

You can snap up the tickets by logging on to www.meanfiddler.com – or by phoning 0870 602 1101.

Britney Spears the reigning Princess of Pop has announced a major UK tour – her first one since 2000. She will be performing some of her greatest hits, and tracks from new album ‘In The Zone’, especially for ‘ The Britney Spears UK Tour 2004’. 2004 looks all set to be a fantastic year for the artist who is extremely excited to get back on stage and showcase some Britney classics as well as fantastic new album tracks.
Britney sent this message to British fans -
"I'm really thrilled to be coming back to tour the UK. I love the British fans and the crowds are always fun. This is going to be my best tour yet and i hope you enjoy it."

Britney Spears fourth album, the critically acclaimed ‘In The Zone’ debuted at no. 1 in the US, while the lead single ‘Me Against The Music’ entered the UK charts at no 2. ‘The Britney Spears UK Tour 2004’ will be the opportunity that Britney has been waiting for… the chance to show her fans and supporters what an incredibly talented and visually creative live performer she really is. Britney Spears burst onto the international pop scene in 1999, with her debut single ‘…Baby One More Time’, and has enjoyed incredible chart success ever since. ‘…Baby One More Time’ the album, debuted at number 1 both here and in the US, which established Britney as a musical force to be reckoned with.

Britney has achieved 14 top ten singles to date. Her follow up set; ‘Oops I Did It Again’ was another hugely successful release as was ‘Born to make you happy’ ‘I’m not a girl (not yet a woman) ‘Lucky’ and ‘You Drive Me Crazy’ to mention but a few. Britney’s previous three albums ‘…Baby One More Time’, ‘Oops I Did It Again’ and her self-titled release ‘Britney’ all smashed into the UK top ten and have collectively sold in excess of 50 million records Worldwide, an unprecedented and staggering number for a recording artist so young. Britney has smashed through the pop rulebook and broken all expectations reigning as the world’s princess of pop.

With a growing stack of awards from MTV Europe, Billboard and Teen Choice, to name a few, Britney was ready to release her third album, ‘Britney’ in 2001. ‘Britney’ incorporated different musical genres, and the world-wide smash hit single ‘Slave 4 U’ by super-producers The Neptunes, introduced Britney’s unique brand of pop/r&b to her audience for the first time. ‘The Britney Spears UK Tour 2004’ will be the first time in over two years that Britney has performed a full band live show in the UK. With outstanding choreography, spectacular set designs and innovative musical arrangements combined with staggering state of the art special effects and pyrotechnics, ‘The Britney Spears UK Tour 2004’ will be the musical extravaganza of 2004.

Working it out

Glasgow SECC around 9,000 I'd imagine - it can hold "up to 10,000"
Manchester SECC probably 15,000 - it can hold "up to 21,000"
Wembley Arena - Little under 11,000
NIA can hold around 12,000 so I'd imagine around 11,000 again

So thats what? around 47,000 tickets available (minus those for competitions, the team etc.) so thats what probably 43,000 or so for the general public?!

Last UK Tour

10/10/00 London, UK Wembley Arena
10/11/00 London, UK Wembley Arena
10/12/00 London, UK Wembley Arena
10/13/00 Manchester, UK Evening News Arena
10/14/00 Manchester, UK Evening News Arena
11/15/00 London, UK London Arena
11/16/00 London, UK London Arena
11/18/00 Manchester, UK Evening News Arena
11/20/00 Birmingham, UK National Exhibition Center
11/21/00 Birmingham, UK National Exhibition Center

Or something ... 10 dates or so thats what I would have expected this time around or at least 8 or so ... not 4 ...

In another talking point, how well do you think this will sell?

She's not excatly the UK's greatest property at this moment *I wonder if the Toxic Video will make a UK apperence on Friday (or before)* I would imagine that she would have a big enough fanbase still to sell well enough ... it will be interesting

steps2cool
12th Jan 2004, 22:32
The Toxic video premiere's in the USA tomorrow doesn't it? So if it's like MATM we should get it Wednesday on MTV Hits seeing as TOTP hasn't got the "premiere" this time.

In fact, during a repeat of that Britney: In The Zone & Out All Night, the little bar along the bottom said something about exclusive first showing, but I didn't see what video it was referring to, if any.

I want to see this tour, I am thinking Wembley and will try and get tickets on Friday morning (Like at 7am lol). I think it'll still sell quickly, assuming that the amount of tickets available will roughly equal MATM's first week sales, so there are still enough fans out there for this, but they're obviously taking it slow to avoid "Britney dates only 1/3rd sold out" headlines.

Noooo the Wembley tickets are mine LOL, there will be like most of southern england, and everyone who doesn't want to or cannot get to the birmingham show fighting over the 11,000 seats on Friday at Wembley, its gonna be chaos LOL

Any idea what time they go on sale online, I was thinking of going on at 7am before college, so don't even think of fobbing me off with a fake time.

Got mine this morning, VERY ANNOYED, so much for everything, only managed to get block B2 at Wembley, probably could have done better if I wasn't at work. I'm keeping my eyes open at all times and if better seats come around I will place another order and sell mine to someone else ..

Not that B2 is that bad, I'm just not taking the risk, if come Friday there is only a few seats available and/or they are all at the back then Block B2 won't seem that bad, and I just don't want to take the chance of having to sit right at the back of the venue when I am (currently) less than half-way back

How have you got tickets already when they go on sale friday????

14th Jan 2004, 10:44
Erm ..

I hope that either Wembley are holding some seats back, or she is going to add an additional date cos @ 10.46am

The first two blocks are being reserved for 9am Friday mouring and you have probably just purchased some crappy seats - the first few blocks are being released for sale FRIDAY MORNING! So its best to wait like everyone else and get better seats!

wembley's more or less sold out now

i've finally just got through and al lthey could offer me were shitty seats touching the back of the arean wall, so i refused them

Nope, I've seen the front blocks online too ... just they didn't have enough seats for the amount of tickets that I needed.
Blocks A1-A4 have been online as I said I will try on Friday anyway to see the allocation given to ticketmaster etc.
If I can get better I will, or I'll ask Jive to see if they can dig up anything for me LOL

I've been to concerts before at this seating anyway, its not that bad and it is sure better than nothing at all LOL

They've added more seats online too "Due to demand the tickets are on sale via the members website as well as the members telephone" is what I was told so there is a high demand there.

Not saying that they aren't holding back, they probably are, just I'd rather have my tickets just in case come Friday they only do have block 4 or 10 or something which are right at the back and need some binoculars to see the stage! LOL

magicpatch
14th Jan 2004, 12:25
Okay the SIDE VIEW seats have just gone online .... they ONLY add these when there is extra demand, they are good view but you miss a lot of the show cos you don't get the lights, the pryo effects, you sit behind the speakers and the music is all weird sounding but these usually only go on sale when they are selling fast!

 you can't buy more than 1 seat in certain blocks either ...

Okay the seats I got aren't the greatest in the world, but what you gonna do? Grab what you can when you can or miss the chance to go altogether?
I'll have to see what Jive can do for me and whatever goes on sale on Friday LOL

Fayes Bra Strap
14th Jan 2004, 13:10
You have been allocated block B2 row 12 seats 14 to 15 in the arena floor 2nd front - right central

*dances* that'll do me!

magicpatch
14th Jan 2004, 13:26

LOL

See the topic i'm about to post, I've spoken to some people at Wembley :D

14th Jan 2004, 23:32
LOL What are you all on about? I'm in Block 11, like at the top. Not behind the speakers thankfully, but I have a thing about being on the floor. Am I near anyone? I will be the person walking round with like ALL the Britney merchandise LOL.

3rd Wembley Date added now, April 27th ...
The UK tour is growing

Britney Spears London Wembley Arena 27 Apr 2004
Britney Spears Glasgow SECC 29 Apr 2004
Britney Spears Glasgow SECC 30 Apr 2004
Britney Spears Manchester Evening News Arena 01 May 2004

noisy
22nd Jan 2004, 20:42
I wonder if shes gonna add another Glasgow date cos the first one sold out almost instantly, then second one althought it says there are seats available when i enter 2 seats it says there is not 2 seats together, so thats prob sold out too
