I honestly don't see where/how they'd fit. They can't dance around like they used to coz they'll look bloody stupid and they'll never be taken seriously either. What CAN they do?

They can feature with another artist
That's what everyone seems to be doing nowadays anyway

I think the moment has passed for a successful reunion involving new material.

They could certainly tour, but musically the record buying public arn't into cheesy pop as much as they were 18 months ago.
The Saturdays are probably the closest sounding act at the moment, and their last album sold 70% less than the one before it, and its sales were 10% of the last STEPS' album.

and featuring???
Please, they're a group with 5 singers, what does it look like when they have to hire an act of the moment to help them shift cds?!!?!!?

Features and collaborations are effective in marketing and sales
'Cos fans of one either artist would buy the single to support them
It's a perfectly feasable scenario
Albeit improbable

I've worked in the music industry for over a year now, I know exactly what features and collaborations mean for acts, and I know that STEPS recording with Red One or Darkchild would be a completely pointless task.
They'd might as well flush they advance down the toilet, no one would buy it, the public arn't stupid.

There is a place for them.....I just haven't worked out where it is yet.

I think they will reform. I think they should reform, if only for a small tour to finish properly what they made such a pig's arse of Christmas 2001. I just want to be sure it'll work before I give it too much........thought lol.

Definitely!

They shouldn't fall into the trap that thinking they're cool, or that they were ever seen as cool, and go seeking cool songs / collaborations.
They need to capitalise on their retro cheesyness. THEN if after they've sold out a tour people are interested they should consider music again... Much like what the original Take That reunion was....
But again, they shouldn't stray too far from their roots... Cool producers will ruin what STEPS are/were.

I think Xenomania / ex PWL engineers should be as far away as they stretch....

NO Pete Waterman involvement.
